For our long after school shoot we started making props the previous day as we had a weekend shoot. We started to make the giant mushroom made out of balloons. We did this by tying lots of balloons to a long piece of wire.
Once the stalk was made however we realised that this may not be successful due to the fact that the balloons wouldn't stand up properly. Also after seeing the balloons pop under the heat of the lights, we knew that we would have to reconsider.
Therefore, we adapted our idea and made card mushrooms instead.
This actually ended up looking quite good and was much easier to work with. This made us realise the importance of practising props to the full degree intended for the shoot as there is little time for mistakes and we were lucky to come up with an alternative in time.
