1.Personal Achievement
What do you personally want to get out of the whole A2 prelim experience?
From the prelim experience I would like to improve my skills and knowledge of producing music videos. I would also like to take away skills that can be applied to any type of video production as a whole. I feel that working on a professional set will be incredibly beneficial in doing so. In addition to technical skills, I would like to improve my understanding of media production, mainly music videos, and learn how each stage of the process works as well as each individual role in the industry.
Is it a challenge for you or within your comfort zone?
My role as an actor in the prelim has proved incredibly challenging for me. As I have no previous experience in acting, I think I will find the experience difficult, however incredibly beneficial for me. I have no experience in music videos, however the production side has some aspects which are within my comfort zone, although I feel that these will be tested and challenged in the A2 prelim experience as it is at a much more professional level.
Have you achieved/learnt anything so far?
So far I have learnt a lot about acting in music videos, including lip-synching specifically. In addition, I have learnt about the different roles in music video production as well as the pre-production stages including casting and costume. From editing my audition video, I have also learnt how to create and use a performance bed.
