17/11 Shoot

This shoot was the longest amount of time we had available in the studio. Therefore we decided to shoot what we foresaw to be the most difficult part of the studio footage. We also needed plenty of extras to fill the shots and so it was important to use the time when we had lots of people available.

For this shoot we were very organised as we had the studio for the whole day in order to set up. The setting up did take a long time as we had to get all of the balloons onto the set and lighting was reasonably difficult. However, we ensured that we had it all ready in time for the actors' arrivals.

For these scenes we filmed the entire song in a wide shot multiple times, directing the actors to do different things and moving them around. We also used the dolly tripod in order to get moving shots and well as close ups, particularly focusing on Georgie.

This shoot was successful and we finished early, however it was very difficult to direct such a large amount of people. We also realised that perhaps we should've had a better idea of what we wanted ourselves in order to direct properly.

We were, however, happy with the footage and it looked good on screen. The only issue we found with our footage was that we didn't get enough close ups which meant that this scene lacked variety. Therefore, we scheduled pickups for this in our last studio session.
